Hi, I’m Kenneth K., and at 17, my passions are fencing, law, forensics and modeling. All of these activities have shaped who I am today and taught me valuable lessons about life, discipline, strategy, resilience and communication.
I am the reigning Bronze Medalist (Cadet Sabre Division) at the 2026 World Fencing Championship at Rio De Janeiro, Brazil (April 2, 2026), and the top ranked sabre fencer and Champion, Senior Sabre Division at the Sweden National Championship (May 2, 2026), and the number ___ranked sabre fencer in Continental Europe. Fencing, for me, is a mental and physical challenge. It’s all about precision, focus, and adaptability. Each match is like a battle of wits, where the small decision can affect the outcome of the match. It has taught me to stay calm under pressure and think on my feet, skills that are useful both on and off the strip.
In addition to fencing, I’m also passionate about law and forensics. I love engaging with different perspectives, analyzing arguments, and enhancing my ability to think critically. Mock trial, debate, speech, model United Nations and Model Congress have taught me the value of clear communication and how to approach complex issues with an open mind with myself and with others. Being the Captain of the HMDC European Mock Trial and Forensic Team, I was especially proud of my team when we competed against a College Moot Court Team twice and came away without a loss. The Irvine Valley College Moot Court Team and my HMDC Mock Trial Team share the same Coach, Professor June McLaughlin, LLM (Tax), LLM (International Business Law).
I am also a part-time professional runway model, having walked the runways at China Fashion Week and Beijing Fashion Week and getting paid for my modeling. The earnings from my modeling will go towards paying for my undergraduate college tuition and fees.
Looking ahead, I want to continue developing all of these passions in college. Whether it’s competing in fencing tournaments or pursuing opportunities in forensics – mock trial, debate and speech or preparing for a legal career or walking the runways at international fashion weeks, I’m excited about the ways they’ll continue to shape my personal and academic growth.
Below are my efforts to help seniors and other people who are not good with digital tools to find legal, medical and social services in Sweden as the current President and Founder of the Swedish Chapter of ProProBono Global Community Service. I hope you find it helpful.
