Thank you for visiting my webpage.  I am the Co-President and Co-Founder of the U.S. Chapter of ProProBono, a global community service webpage aimed at helping each Co-Founder’s local community by making various medical, social and legal resources easily accessible. I am also a student investigator working on cancer research.  Here I am at the laboratory of Professor Bo Liu, Ph.D. at the Shanghai Institute of Materia Medica, Chinese Academy of Sciences.  The research team focuses on the intrinsic immune recognition abnormalities and inflammatory dysregulation mechanisms related to infections, autoimmune diseases, and other related conditions. By utilizing animal models of inflammatory diseases, immune disorders, and infections, we aim to reveal the transport and function of immune recognition receptors, as well as the regulatory mechanisms of downstream inflammation, at the levels of immunology, cell biology, and biochemistry. We aim to explore new strategies and transformations for inflammation intervention.

My research was focused on cancer biology and potential treatment strategies related to immune therapy. Cancer remains one of the leading causes of death worldwide, and developing effective treatments is a critical challenge in modern medicine. I explored how cancer develops at the cellular level and investigated possible approaches to treating it. Research in this field helps improve our understanding of how cancer progresses and contributes to the discovery of new therapies that can save lives and improve patient outcomes.  As part of the project, I conducted laboratory work including bacterial culture and mouse dissection to better understand experimental techniques used in biomedical research.

Through this experience, I gained both theoretical knowledge and practical laboratory skills. I learned fundamental concepts in cancer biology, experimental design, and genetic engineering. I also developed hands-on skills such as culturing bacteria, conducting dissections, and analyzing scientific data. In addition, I improved my ability to think critically about scientific problems and communicate research findings effectively.  At the conclusion of my project, I independently wrote a paper proposing a cancer treatment plan, where I analyzed existing knowledge and developed my own ideas. This project helped develop my ability to combine theoretical understanding with practical application and scientific writing.
