Welcome! I am Steven X., the proud founder of the California Chapter. California, known for its vibrant communities and diverse population, unfortunately, faces a significant challenge when it comes to access and navigation when it comes to legal issues. Many Californians, regardless of their income level, find themselves navigating critical civil legal issues without meaningful legal assistance. According to The State Bar of California, the statistics are staggering. Nearly 90 percent of individuals facing eviction are unrepresented, and in a concerning 70 percent of family law cases, either one or both parties are left without legal representation. These numbers highlight the urgent need for accessible legal resources and support for those who are struggling to navigate the complex legal system. Therefore, when Founders Jason and Jerry asked if I wanted to help out, I didn’t think twice before joining and establishing the California Chapter. With the ambitious goal of empowering individuals facing civil legal issues, enabling them to make informed decisions and effectively protect their rights, I know I am not able to achieve this on my own.
Fortunately, I met the co-founder of the California Chapter, Rachel, when I was attending modeling classes in Beijing. When she told me she also lives in California during the water break, I immediately jumped on the opportunity and tried to recruit her. After sharing and addressing the lack of guidance when it comes to civil legal issues in California, she, just like me, did not hesitate about joining.
We recognize that accessing legal assistance can be challenging, especially for those who are already facing financial constraints. That's why we've built the California Chapter to be a user-friendly online resource, providing comprehensive legal information, guides, and frequently asked questions specific to California's laws and regulations. Our platform is designed to break down complex legal concepts into easily understandable language, making the law more accessible and less intimidating. The California Chapter is more than just a website; it's a community of passionate individuals, like me and Rachel, who believe in equal justice for all. We encourage you to explore our resources and connect with others who may have faced similar legal challenges. Together, we can create a supportive environment where no Californian is left behind in their pursuit of justice.

Medicare In Southern California
· The federal health insurance program for
· People who are 65 or older
· Certain younger people with disabilities
· People with End-Stage Renal Disease (permanent kidney failure requiring dialysis or a transplant, sometimes called ESRD)
· Eligibility for Medicare
· Individuals older than 65 are automatically eligible
· People under 65 may also qualify if they have a qualifying disability, such as receiving Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) benefits for a certain period.
· The individual must be a U.S. citizen or a legal permanent resident who has lived in the United States for at least five continuous years.
· Different Parts of Medicare
· Part A (Hospital Insurance)
· Provides coverage for inpatient hospital stays, skilled nursing facility care, hospice care, and some home health care services.
· Most people receive Part A coverage automatically when they turn 65, as long as they or their spouse have paid Medicare taxes while working.
· Part B (Medical Insurance)
· Covers outpatient care, doctor visits, preventive services, and some home health care.
· Optional and requires payment of a monthly premium. Individuals can choose to enroll in Part B during their initial enrollment period.
· If you want Medicare coverage to start when your job-based health insurance ends, you need to sign up for Part B the month before you or your spouse plan to retire.
· Part C (Medicare Advantage Plan)
· Part C is also known as Medicare Advantage. It is an alternative to traditional Medicare (Part A and Part B) and is offered by private insurance companies.
· Medicare Advantage plans often include coverage for hospital and medical services, and may also include additional benefits like vision, dental, and prescription drug coverage.
· Part D (Drug Coverage)
· Part D provides coverage for prescription drugs. It is offered by private insurance companies that are approved by Medicare.
· Enrollment in a Part D plan is optional, but individuals are encouraged to consider enrolling in a plan to help with the cost of prescription medications.
· Medigap (Medicare Supplement Insurance)
· Medigap plans, also known as Medicare Supplement Insurance, are private insurance plans that help cover the "gaps" in coverage left by traditional Medicare (Part A and Part B).
· These plans can help with out-of-pocket costs such as copayments, coinsurance, and deductibles.

3. Visit Local Pharmacies: Many pharmacies in Southern California offer routine vaccinations. You can visit a local pharmacy, such as CVS, Walgreens, or other chains, to inquire about the vaccines you need. Some pharmacies also offer walk-in services for certain vaccinations.
4. Check with Local Health Departments: Local health departments may organize vaccination clinics or events where you can receive routine vaccines. Check their websites or contact them directly for information on upcoming vaccination opportunities.
5. Schools and Workplaces: Educational institutions and workplaces may also organize vaccination drives or provide information on where to get routine vaccines. Check with your school or employer for any available resources.
6. Community Health Clinics: Community health clinics and vaccination clinics may offer routine vaccines. These clinics are often accessible to the general public, and you can inquire about their services.
7. Insurance Coverage: Check with your health insurance provider to understand coverage for routine vaccinations. Some vaccines may be covered by insurance, making them more accessible.
8. Bring Documentation: When getting vaccinated, be sure to bring any necessary documentation, such as identification and insurance information.
9. Remember to consult with your healthcare provider to determine the specific vaccines you need based on your age, health status, and other factors. Keeping up with routine vaccinations is important for maintaining individual and community health.
